Interactive lunar globe
Spin a textured globe or drop to a flat mosaic. Every crater, rille and ridge is where NASA put it — WAC imagery over LOLA topography.
Choose a crater, a landing site, or a patch of nothing at all. LunaScape3D reads real lunar elevation data and hands back a watertight STL and a colour-mapped 3MF — generated entirely in your browser.
A few favourite moon prints from LunaScape3D makers.
Some end up on a desk, some on a wall, some under a squad of miniatures, and some on a keyring. One app makes all of them, from 20 mm to 300 mm.
Selection, terrain generation, mesh repair, colour assignment and slicer prep — one pipeline, running client-side.
Spin a textured globe or drop to a flat mosaic. Every crater, rille and ridge is where NASA put it — WAC imagery over LOLA topography.
A solid single-piece tile, ready to hang or mount. Circle, square or hexagon, with a loose or snap-fit frame.
A plain STL prints anywhere. Multi-material machines get a 3MF with per-object filament assignments already mapped for Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer.
Meshing runs in your browser, on your own hardware. No render queue, no upload, no waiting behind someone else's job.
Emboss or engrave a label around the border — a name, a date, or the exact selenographic coordinates of the region, generated for you.
Drag the globe, type coordinates, or jump to a preset — Tycho, Hadley Rille, the Apollo 11 site, or the farside nobody on Earth has ever seen. The selection box is what you print.
Diameter, shape, frame style, piece count, vertical exaggeration. Everything is in millimetres, so what you see is what lands on the bed.
One click builds the mesh locally — terrain and frame already separated, watertight, oriented flat. Download, slice, print. No repair step, no CAD.
Print the model, enjoy your creation.
Terrain is a solid body, not a draped surface, so every model prints clean without a repair pass.
The same pipeline, pointed at the red planet. Real MOLA elevation, Viking colour mosaics, and terrain on a scale the Moon can't match. It's in final testing and arriving very soon.
Presets that jump the globe straight to the coordinates. One click to travel, one to generate.
Starting points, not gospel — but they get the craters to read.
Standard resolution costs nothing, forever. Pay only when you want the fine mesh or the commercial licence.
Digital files are never resold or redistributed on any tier.
No. LunaScape3D runs in any modern desktop browser with WebGL2. Terrain generation happens on your own machine — nothing is uploaded and nothing is queued.
Yes — LOLA elevation and WAC imagery from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Height is vertically exaggerated so craters read at print scale, so models are accurate representations rather than survey-grade replicas.
All of them. Every model exports as a plain STL that slices anywhere. If your printer handles multiple materials, the 3MF export arrives with filament assignments already mapped for Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer.
Unlimited standard-resolution models up to 150 mm, exported as STL or multi-colour 3MF, for personal printing. Paid tiers unlock full-resolution terrain, models up to 300 mm, saved presets and the commercial licence.
You can explore the globe and preview a model without one. An account is needed to download files, so your library and licence follow you between machines.
Selling physical prints requires the Merchant tier. Free and Maker cover personal prints and gifts. The digital files themselves can't be resold or redistributed on any tier.
The Moon is first because the data is the best mapped. Mars, Mercury and Earth terrain use the same pipeline and are next in line.
Open the app in your browser and have a print-ready file before your bed finishes heating.
