Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the LunaScape3D website (lunascape3d.com), the app (app.lunascape3d.com) and the 3D model files you create with it (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
The Service
LunaScape3D lets you choose a region of the Moon (and, over time, other worlds) and generate a 3D-printable model of its terrain from public planetary elevation data. Models are generated in your browser and exported as STL or 3MF files.
You need a modern desktop browser with WebGL2. We don’t guarantee that the Service will work on every device, browser or printer.
Accounts
You can explore the globe and preview models without an account. To download files, save presets to your account or subscribe, you need to sign in with an email address.
You’re responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, because anyone who can read your sign-in links can sign in as you. Give us an email address you control, and tell us promptly at hello@lunascape3d.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to subscribe to a paid plan.
Plans, billing and cancellation
LunaScape3D offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. The current plans, prices and features are listed on our pricing section.
Paid plans are sold by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which handles checkout, payment, taxes and invoices. Lemon Squeezy’s own terms apply to your purchase as well.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until you cancel.
- Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from the billing portal in the app. Your paid features stay active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. You then move back to the free plan.
- Refunds: we generally don’t refund partial billing periods. If something has gone wrong, such as a duplicate charge or a Service that didn’t work for you, email us within 14 days of the charge and we’ll make it right. Nothing in these terms limits any refund rights you have under local consumer law.
- Price changes: we may change our prices. If the price of your plan changes, we’ll tell you in advance, and the new price will only apply from your next billing period after the notice.
Your licence to use the models
The models you generate are made from public planetary data using our software. Subject to these terms and your plan, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the model files as follows:

The licence to sell physical prints covers prints you make while your Merchant subscription is active. Prints you’ve already sold stay licensed after you cancel.
On every plan, you may not sell, share, upload, redistribute or give away the digital model files themselves (STL, 3MF or any derivative mesh), whether free or paid, including on model-sharing sites or print-on-demand marketplaces that distribute the files.
The underlying data
The elevation and imagery data comes from NASA missions, including the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter’s LOLA and LROC WAC instruments. NASA data is generally in the public domain, and these terms don’t claim ownership of it. What we license to you is the model generated by our software from that data. LunaScape3D is not affiliated with or endorsed by NASA.
Models are vertically exaggerated and processed for printing. They’re accurate representations of the terrain, not survey-grade measurements. Don’t rely on them for navigation, science or engineering.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract map tiles or data from the Service, or put unreasonable load on our servers;
- get around plan limits, licence checks or other technical restrictions;
- share your account or resell access to the Service;
- reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Our property
The LunaScape3D software, website, name, logo and design belong to us and are protected by intellectual-property law. Apart from the licence to model files described above, these terms don’t give you any rights to them.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Printing is at your own risk
3D printing involves heat, moving parts and sometimes fumes. How a model prints depends on your printer, materials and settings. The settings guidance on our site is only a starting point. We’re not responsible for failed prints, wasted filament, or damage or injury from operating your printer.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, LunaScape3D won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow some of these limits. In those places, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop offering the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can, and we’ll refund any prepaid, unused subscription time.
The sections on licences for prints you’ve already sold, the underlying data, our property, disclaimers and limitation of liability still apply after your use ends.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we’ll tell account holders by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
